Re: ADSL upgrade As stated previously, you won't get a speed increase as a result of the laying of fibre (unless you opt for FTTC), but you will probably get a speed increase if/when the exchange is upgraded to ADSL2. Hi, even though i have a 7mb speed normally, which is sufficient for my bog standard internet usage. Every week or so when I try to Zoom it drops to under 1 mb and becomes unusable. I have had an engineer visit who found a monor fault, but by then the speed was back up to around 7mb. This has mean Hi, I have an ADSL connection that gives me a reasonable 7Mbps download but upload is only 448Kbps. My router is saying there's an attainable speed of 1144Kbps on the upload side. I've seen a previous post that suggests that there may be a cap in place at the exchange. Fix your broadband connection with our troubleshooter. If you are still experiencing problems try our troubleshooter. If we can't find a fault or fix the problem online, we'll give you the option to book an engineer appointment. If you can't connect to your BT Broadband, you can do this using your mobile internet connection.
